With an outstanding 30 years as a business owner and a woman with a love of adventures on the high seas, Ms. Hays' expertise is in managing all aspects of her businesses, as well as doing relief work on a variety of other boats and ships. Ms. Hays holds a 1600 ton U.S.C.G., Masters License and has held positions on tugs, research vessels, hydrographic survey ships, commercial and sports fishing vessels. Before undertaking her current endeavor, she owned Alaska Natural Seafoods, Inc., a commercial fishing operation, for 19 years. With her boat the Arch Cape she tendered for salmon, gillnetted Cook Inlet for salmon, long lined for halibut, crabbed, and charter fished for winter kings. She also owned Bay Blue Mussel Farm, an aquaculture venture, where she farmed blue mussels in the pristine waters of Halibut Cove Lagoon, a tidal area in Kachemak Bay, Alaska.

Her new boat the Memory Maker provides unique fishing adventures for tourists and natives alike. The boat is run by Captain Bruce and is equipped to target salmon, halibut, rockfish, and lingcod. In the evenings, Ms. Hays likes to run the Eco-Tour, a three-hour charter to see whales, otters, bears, goats and neighboring coves. The Memory Maker has state of the art equipment and offers a fast, smooth, luxurious ride for up to six passengers. The vessel has been awarded a five star safety rating by the U. S. Coast Guard.
